Research Scientist – R&D (PhD/Post Doc) – Ahmedabad, India

This exciting opportunity provides a challenging role for a highly skilled and enthusiastic individual to contribute to our ongoing research projects. You will be involved in all aspects of the drug discovery process, from the design and synthesis of novel molecules to their biological evaluation and optimization. This is a pivotal role in accelerating the development of novel therapeutics.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, synthesize, and characterize novel organic molecules relevant to drug discovery.
• Conduct in-vitro and in-vivo studies to evaluate the efficacy and safety of lead compounds.
• Maintain meticulous laboratory records and contribute to the preparation of research reports and publications.
• Collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team, including chemists, biologists, and pharmacologists.
• Contribute to the intellectual property portfolio of Piramal Pharma Solutions.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in organic and medicinal chemistry.

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

• PhD or Postdoctoral degree in Organic Chemistry or Medicinal Chemistry from a reputable university.
• 0-1 year of postdoctoral or industry experience is preferred, but highly motivated candidates with a strong academic record will also be considered.
• Demonstrated expertise in organic synthesis, including purification and characterization techniques (NMR, HPLC, Mass Spectrometry).
• Strong understanding of medicinal chemistry principles and drug design strategies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a meticulous approach to experimental work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
