Job Description: QA/Coder – HCC

As a QA/Coder at HOM, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of healthcare coding. Your responsibilities will include:

• Reviewing and auditing medical records: Thoroughly examining patient charts to identify relevant diagnoses, procedures, and services.
• Assigning appropriate ICD-10 and CPT codes: Applying your coding expertise to accurately represent the medical information in standardized codes.
• Ensuring compliance with coding guidelines: Adhering to all relevant regulations and guidelines, including those set by the American Medical Association (AMA) and other regulatory bodies.
• Maintaining accurate documentation: Keeping meticulous records of all coding activities and identifying any discrepancies or potential issues.
• Quality assurance: Participating in quality assurance processes to ensure the highest levels of accuracy and compliance.
• Collaborating with team members: Working effectively within a team environment to achieve shared goals.
• Staying up-to-date with coding changes: Continuously learning and adapting to changes in coding guidelines and industry best practices.

Key Requirements:

• Experience: While we prefer candidates with 1+ years of experience in healthcare coding, we also welcome applications from highly motivated individuals with relevant experience in HCC coding, even without formal certification. Fresh graduates with strong academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
• Certifications: CPC (Certified Professional Coder), CRC (Certified Radiology Coder), and CCS (Certified Coding Specialist) certifications are highly preferred but not mandatory for all applicants. Demonstrated proficiency in HCC coding will be considered.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency with healthcare coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems is a plus.
• Soft Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills, effective communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team are essential.
